Eid ul Adha — the Festival of Sacrifice — falls on the 10th of Dhul Hijjah, the final month of the Islamic calendar. It is one of only two Eids in Islam, and many scholars consider it the greater of the two. It marks the culmination of Hajj — the annual pilgrimage to Makkah — and commemorates one of the greatest acts of submission in all of prophetic history.

The story begins with Ibrahim عليه السلام — Khalilullah, the Friend of Allah — who received a command in a dream to sacrifice his son Ismail عليه السلام. He told his son. Ismail, without hesitation, said: “Do what you have been commanded. You will find me, if Allah wills, to be of the patient.” Father and son together submitted completely to the will of Allah. And just as Ibrahim raised the knife, Allah called out to him — the sacrifice had been accepted, a great sacrifice was sent in the son’s place, and Ibrahim had passed the greatest test a father could face.

🤲 About Noorway

Why We Built This

NoorWay started with a simple idea — every Muslim deserves access to beautiful, reliable Islamic tools without being asked to pay, sign up, or sit through adverts.

We noticed that most Islamic apps and websites either hide useful features behind subscriptions, bombard you with ads, or require you to download an app just to check a prayer time. We thought that was wrong.

So we built NoorWay — a free online Islamic tools website where everything works instantly in your browser. Whether you need to calculate your Zakat, learn the Arabic alphabet with your children, test your Quran knowledge with a family quiz, or find your Qibla direction, it is all here. No app needed. No account required. No ads. Ever.

NoorWay is built and maintained in London, UK. Every tool is crafted with care, tested on real devices, and designed to be beautiful on both desktop and mobile. We believe Islamic resources should be accessible to everyone, regardless of where they live or what they can afford.

If NoorWay has helped you, please share it with your family and friends — that is the best way to support us.
